I like this video a lot and would like to teach my Boston Terrier these things however, before I even start I have a question. I can already anticipate, Fezzik, just wanting to bite the object I'm presenting him. In other words I predict him simply wanting to play tug of war or running off with the object. Any suggestions?

my dog - she's a chow chow and already knows lots of tricks - thinks I want her to try to destroy the object! no matter how I try to show her that I just want her to hold it for me, she'll take it, lie down and start chewing on it :(

@ikidreviews
I had the same problem with my border collie mix. To get it where she isn't nervous. when you are teaching her tricks you need to be calm if you are frustrated annoyed or if you expect her to learn it quickly she can sense it. try to use an exiting voice so she knows that learning tricks is fun and means rewards. Good luck.

This is great. My Boston loves to fetch and bring things to us, but he will go to give it to us and then run. The run is because he wants you to play with him. He also figured out that when the timer on the microwave goes off something in the oven is cooking and he goes straight to the oven or microwave. Love the videos!!!

I have to ask, I have a gsp, and he doesn't seem to like to hold stuff, I'm having real troubles getting him to even mouth stuff, I'm taking it steady, but he seems to be able to outwait me at times, he just lays down and looks at me if he doesn't get it... I"ve watched both your videos on teaching fetch/hold... and neither method seems to be working... am I just expecting too much too soon?

I can get to the point where my dog (acd) will hold and take things, but he drops them right away. Any ideas?
