The Toys …….A Lovers Concerto
The Toys were an American pop girl group from Jamaica, New York, which was formed in 1961 and disbanded in 1968. The Toys were discovered at a talent show by manager Vince Marc, who introduced them to songwriters Sandy Linzer and Denny Randell. Linzer and Randell wrote most of the songs recorded by them, including their US #2 hit single “A Lover’s Concerto”, and also produced the group’s 1965-66 recordings on Bob Crewe’s DynoVoice record label Global sales of this disc exceeded two million copies, with a gold record awarded by the RIAA in 1965. Their first US tour was with Gene Pitney. In 1967 the group changed labels and producers, but charted only one more minor single (a cover of Brian Hyland’s “Sealed with a Kiss”) before breaking up. The Toys appeared on most of the major TV rock programs, including Shindig!, Hullabaloo, and American Bandstand.[1] They also had a cameo role in the 1967 beach movie It’s a Bikini World.[2][3]

I love this song very much!!! Thanks
@LindaDooWop I’m so glad you said this, Linda. A while back I asked my violin teacher if she heard this song when Minuet in G is played and she told me she didn’t know this song. I’ve always wondered if others heard the minuet, too. So it was totally intentional that this song sounds like Minuet in G, yes?
Thanks for posting this video, JansLoveShack! This is one of my favorite songs ever. I love this kind of music. I think I was born about 30 years too late when I hear music from this time.
I forgot to mention, great song, it bring back memories I thought I forgotten. It makes me think of my mother and older sister, they are no longer with us. Thanks Jan.
I feel blessed that I was born in 52, because I grew up in two of the most wonderful decades. I miss those days of innocences. It was a time of wonder and joy for me, but, also a time of change. Being a Christian meant something back then, I felt safe. For me I did’nt feel so afraid as I do today. I feel so sorry for generations that were born after the baby boomers. Because the world started getting darker by the end of the 70’s.
lovely song !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Still incredible !!!!!! It nevers sounds dated.

This brings back great memories! Thank you for uploading it. The tune was derived from Bach’s Minuet in G Major. You can listen to that on ITunes. You can’t miss it!.
